Claude Stout, Executive Director of Telecommunications for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing (TDI), will be speaking on two panels at the 2016 M-Enabling Summit, June 13-14 at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel, Washington, DC. The Conference focuses on accessible mobile apps and services and breakthrough assistive technology solutions for persons with disabilities and senior citizens. The first panel Stout is on will be focusing on is a topic on the innovation track “Media on the Internet: Accessibility Challenges and Opportunities.” The development of new media over the Internet dramatically changes the way users acquire information, enjoy cultural or entertainment programs and interact with those. While new Internet based media offerings present serious accessibility challenges in what largely remains an unregulated environment around the world, new media and user devices offer entirely new accessibility options which transform the way persons of different ages or abilities interact with content and services. The second panel Stout on will be focusing on is a topic on mobile enabling solutions track “Deaf and Hard of Hearing.” This session will cover the fast expanding sector of mobile apps and services available to users who are deaf or hard of hearing. After a kick-off presentation assessing the main advances of assistive mobile apps and services for this group of users, the session will review innovative solutions in a panel format. This will be in room Studio D.
