Shuxu “Sev” Huffman is a Deaf researcher and PhD student at Gallaudet University, where their work focuses on Deaf-centered technology, accessibility, and human-computer interaction. Their research explores extended reality, sign language AI, and technologies for disabled athletes, with an emphasis on centering Deaf experiences in the design of emerging technologies. Before beginning their PhD, Sev worked as a software engineer in the technology industry. They have also served on the board of Deaf Spotlight in Seattle WA.
