The Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (Access Board) plans to hold its regular committee and Board meetings in Washington, DC, Monday through Wednesday, March 9-11, 2020.

At the Board meeting scheduled on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 11, the Access Board will consider the following agenda items:

  • Approval of January 15, 2020 draft meeting minutes (vote)
  • Ad Hoc Committee Reports: Design Guidance; Frontier Issues
  • Budget Committee
  • Planning and Evaluation Committee
  • Technical Programs Committee
  • Election Assistance Commission Report
  • Election of Officers
  • Executive Director’s Report
  • Public Comment (final 15 minutes of the meeting)

The Board also intends to update provisions for rail cars in its ADA Accessibility Guidelines for Transportation Vehicles according to recommendations from an advisory panel it organized. These recommendations address communication access, boarding and alighting, on-board circulation, seating, and rooms and spaces. The Board seeks feedback on these recommendations and related questions about the feasibility or potential impacts on vehicle design, operations, and cost. It is also interested in research, data, and technologies on improved accessibility to rail vehicles.
