We cordially extend an invitation to you to join us for the Keynote Address by Apple’s Director of Accessibility, Sarah Herrlinger at the 22nd Biennial Conference of Telecommunications for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Inc. on Thursday, July 27, from 1:00 to 1:45 PM. The Conference takes place at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, 5701 Marinelli Road North Bethesda, MD 20852. The White Flint Metro Station is across from the hotel. Ms. Herrlinger will give the address in the Salon D room which is on the main level of the Conference Center.
It’s a great opportunity to witness Ms. Herrlinger’s keynote address, titled “Accessibility at Apple: Innovating for All,” and we look forward to learning about the incredible work of Apple with its accessible products and services. We hope to hear about what is in Apple’s plans in the near future to meet our unique needs as well as incorporating them with that of its general customer base. We would be deeply honored if you will join us for Ms. Herrlinger’s keynote address. It is absolutely free to attend, and (while encouraged) you need not register for the Conference to attend the keynote address.
Sarah Herrlinger is Director of Global Accessibility Policy & Initiatives at Apple. In this role, Sarah leads Accessibility for Apple — including Apple’s award winning VoiceOver screenreader software for people who are blind, Made for iPhone Hearing Aids, and other initiatives the team creates which support Apple’s culture of inclusion. At Apple, accessibility is championed as a basic human right and influences all Apple platforms. Since joining Apple in 2003, Ms. Herrlinger has served in several key accessibility roles, including in Apple’s Education organization, focusing on the use of Apple technology to support all learners, as well as defining the Accessibility product strategy across the Apple ecosystem.
Apple has a large base of customers that are deaf and hard of hearing across the globe, and we invite you from the DC metro area to join us for Ms. Herrlinger’s appearance. Let Ms. Herrlinger know that Apple has our deepest appreciation for elevating our quality of life with its superior, accessible products and services. Our lives have been better, as a result of Apple’s work in the last thirty five years. Some of us started back then with IIes and MacIntoshes 512K. Today, many of us enjoy its iPhones, iTunes, iPads, Apple Watches, MacBooks, Macs, and other innovative products. While we strongly encourage you to attend the full conference, if you prefer to only attend the keynote address by Ms. Herrlinger, you absolutely can! Saturday, July 29 is Consumers’ Day, so all are welcome to attend, and do not need to register to experience what the TDI has to offer for the day.
In order for us to know how many that will join us for this event, while not required, we would appreciate a RSVP from you on whether you can join us or not. Thank you, and hope to see you there.
RSVP: Send Claude an e-mail at [email protected] about coming to see Ms. Herrlinger give her address on Thursday afternoon, July 27 at 1:00 p.m.
