On Thursday October 25th TDI will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary, hosting a celebratory gala at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Rockville, MD. Alex diligently researches media content from around the world and reports it in ASL via his website, which is distributed over various social media platforms.

The gala will conclude at 10 p.m., immediately following is the YouthQuake event. This event is expected to draw an additional 100 people, mostly young deaf and hard of hearing adults.

“We understand those who just entered the workforce or will soon graduate from college may not be afforded the opportunity to interact with trailblazers and other notable individuals that paved the way in creating accessible technology for the current generation,” mused, Claude Stout, Executive Director of TDI. “We want the younger generation to know that we deeply value them and the future of their access. We want to give them the opportunity to build a network and learn wisdom from our pioneers. Considering the significant number of community contributors attending our gala, we want to make the evening portion welcoming for our younger generation. It is the least we can do to bridge the gap and create a stronger path to a more accessible future.”
