Come Join Sheila Conlon-Mentkowski and the TDI Board of Directors for the President’s Reception on Thursday July 27!

We will be having our 22st Biennial Conference on July 27-29, 2017 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, in Bethesda, Maryland.  On Thursday, July 27, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, TDI will be hosting the President’s Reception in the Grand Ballroom.


Sheila Conlon-Mentkowski, President of TDI Board of Directors, will be attending the reception. Here’s a bit of background on Sheila:

Sheila Conlon-Mentkowski is President of Telecommunications for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Inc. (TDI).  She serves as an elected member of the TDI Board of Directors, representing the Western Region.  She is an attorney by training and has worked at the National Center for Law and the Deaf, Washington, DC before moving to Sacramento, CA, where she was employed by NorCal Center on Deafness, Sacramento, CA, in various executive positions.  She recently retired as Administrator of the Assistive Technology Program with the CA Department of Rehabilitation (DOR).  She is also the Chair of the National Association of the Deaf Technology Committee, a Yahoo Group composed of 80 deaf consumers whose focus is on technology that enables and enhances deaf, deaf-blind, and hard of hearing individuals’ lives.

It’s a great opportunity to meet with the President of the TDI Board, as well as other seven members of the TDI Board of Directors!  You will be thrilled to meet Andy Lange, Vice President and Member-At Large from St. Augustine, FL, Rebecca Rosenthal, Secretary and Central Region Representative from Cary, NC, Stephanie Buell, Treasurer and Midwest Region Representative from Nashville, TN, Northeast Region Representative CM Boryslawskyj from East Hampton, CT, Southeast Region Representative Jan Withers from Durham, NC, Member-At Large Matt Myrick from Bethesda, MD, and Member-At Large Jarvis Grindstaff from Washington, DC.


It costs $50 to attend the President’s Reception.  You will not be disappointed with the food that is served at the Reception.  You will need not have dinner at home before or after the event!  Socializing with new and old faces from government, industry, and consumer advocacy groups is a big PLUS!  Last but not least, there will be a small program, in which Sheila will report on the last two years’ accomplishments with TDI in consumer advocacy.  Also, she will announce the new Board members for Central and Midwest Regions.  This opportunity is definitely a bargain to be had!  If you’re interested, please head to our website to sign up:
